About NABL Calibration

What NABL means, why calibration matters, and the plain-language distinctions your QA and audit team will ask about.

What is NABL?

The National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories, under the Quality Council of India, accredits labs against ISO/IEC 17025 — verifying equipment, staff and procedures on an ongoing basis.

Why calibration matters

Every weighing instrument drifts through wear, temperature change and load-cell fatigue. Calibration re-establishes the true relationship between what an instrument shows and what is physically correct.

Traceability, simply put

The test weight used on your scale links, through an unbroken chain of comparisons, back to a national or international reference — documented on every certificate we issue.

Measurement uncertainty

No measurement is perfectly exact. NABL certificates state the margin explicitly (e.g. ± 0.05 kg), letting QA make a defensible pass/fail call instead of guessing.

Calibration vs. Verification vs. Stamping

Calibration

Compares against a traceable reference; documents deviation & uncertainty.

Verification

A pass/fail confirmation against a specified tolerance.

Legal Metrology Stamping

Government mandate confirming fitness for trade — separate from NABL calibration.

Internal Calibration vs. NABL Calibration

The distinction auditors check for first — and the compliance badges the page reinforces it with.

Internal Calibration

Performed by your own team using reference weights — useful for daily checks but not third-party accredited. Auditors typically require it alongside, not instead of, NABL calibration.

NABL Calibration

Performed by an accredited lab or its authorised on-site engineers — full traceability, stated uncertainty, and accepted across ISO 9001, IATF 16949, GMP and export audits.

Benefits of NABL Calibration

What a properly calibrated instrument actually earns your plant.

Improved Accuracy

Instruments read closer to true value, batch after batch.

Reduced Rejections

Fewer out-of-spec batches from measurement drift.

ISO Compliance

Records satisfy ISO 9001 and sector-specific QMS clauses.

Audit Ready

Certificates filed exactly the way auditors expect.

Traceability

A documented chain back to national standards.

Improved Product Quality

Consistent dosing improves finished-product consistency.

Reduced Downtime

Early detection prevents unplanned line stoppages.

Legal Compliance

Supports obligations under trade & quality regulations.

Customer Confidence

Buyers and auditors trust accredited-backed numbers.

Why Regular Calibration Matters

A single calibration is a snapshot. A schedule is what keeps that snapshot accurate all year.

Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions about our weighing solutions? Find clear answers to the most common queries regarding our products, accuracy, installation, maintenance, warranty, and support services to help you make an informed decision.

How often should calibration be done?

Every 6–12 months for most instruments; quarterly for high-usage or safety-critical equipment.

What is NABL?

India's accreditation body for testing & calibration labs, under the Quality Council of India.

Is on-site calibration possible?

Yes — most work is done at your facility with portable, traceable reference weights.

Do you provide certificates?

Every calibration includes a formal certificate with readings, deviation and uncertainty.

What is measurement uncertainty?

The quantified margin around a measured value within which the true value lies.

How do I book a calibration visit?

Use the on-page form, call, or WhatsApp — confirmed within one business day.
